Multistage Centrifugal Pumps with Strong Powers

Posted on Mar 13, 2020

In the industrial market for professional usages, a multistage centrifugal pump is designed with two or more impellers. Based on the brand and configuration variation, the impellers might be mounted on the same or different shafts due to the different designs. If high pressures at the outlet are necessary as required, then impellers can also be connected in series while for high flow output, they are typically connected parallel for sure.

Economic concern

Today, using a multistage centrifugal pump to develop high pressures onto a common shaft within the same casing is more economic than a pump with just one impeller due to the structural concern. As that is the part of the pump design, channels within the pump casing work well by routing the discharge of one impeller to the suction of another. Moreover, water enters the pump and then passes through the multiple impellers in a series, and then go from the left to right. From there, water passes from the volute that surrounds the volute of one impeller and to the suction of the next impeller.

Basic knowledge of pumps

Let’s move back to more essential topic about what is a pump. In the pump industry, for liquid transmission, pump and valve are important units for workers in the working field. However pump is not like valve in many phases. Normally pumps are equipment that moves fluids-state substance such as liquids by its mechanical action. Traditionally speaking, pumps can be categorized into three major kinds based on the method those pumps exploited to move the targeted substance. Further, mini water pump is another component in the industry that no factory can be in lack of due to its compact size and good performance. Mini water pump like other pumps, are like any other Commercial Pumps, are the equipment that moves fluids-state substance by its mechanical action but only be specifically designed to meet the industrial applications.

Pump divisions

In the market, pumps can be categorized into three major types based on the method those pumps exploited to move the target fluids. These three types are determined by the way they move fluids, and there are direct lift, displacement, and gravity methods. That is, there are direct lift pump, displacement pump, and gravity pump. Pumps are typically operated by either typically reciprocating or rotary mechanism, and consume energy to perform mechanical work moving the object, which is a normally fluid-like substance, or say, liquid. Meanwhile, there is another issue to be stated at the same time, since mechanical pumps can also be submerged in the fluid in which they are pumping or be placed external to the fluid. Pumps can be categorized by their method of displacement into positive displacement pumps, impulse pumps, velocity pumps, gravity pumps, steam pumps and valve-less pumps objects. These different categories are engineered due to the market demands and user requirements.

Therefore, no matter it is industrial fan, circulation system, air conditioner, pump, and other stuff, these are all important to a plant to operate, so how to coordinate them all and make the best use of them is the art of the plant engineering and most importantly, market feedback will tell how the engineering is. And as a result, the multistage centrifugal pumps that we have talked earlier are single-stage and there are many times when a multistage centrifugal pump is the better solution.
